Shvaan Foods Pvt. Ltd. is a Pune-based Indian dog-food company founded by Kedar Dixit. Shvaan makes fresh, human-grade wet dog food using real ingredients and shelf-stable retort packaging, helping pet parents improve one everyday meal in a practical way.

Where Shvaan began
Bolt inspired the first bowl.
Shvaan began because Kedar wanted a better everyday meal for Bolt, his first dog and a much-loved member of the family. Understanding what should go into Bolt’s bowl led Kedar to study dog nutrition, develop recipes and observe how food affected appetite, digestion, energy and the daily feeding experience.
The work developed through practical feeding experience, formulation learning, customer feedback and hands-on food manufacturing. Early meals were prepared for local delivery in frozen form. Shvaan later moved to retort-packed meals that could remain shelf-stable while unopened.
The goal was not to make feeding more complicated. It was to make fresh feeding more practical for Indian homes.

Shvaan makes fresh wet dog food using real meat, eggs, rice, fruits, vegetables and selected Ayurvedic herbs and spices.
The meals are packed primarily in 200 g retort pouches and contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
Current recipes: Classic Chicken, Apple Chicken, Mango Chicken, Lamb & Apple, Turkey & Pumpkin, Duck & Beets, and Quail & Pumpkin.

Retort-packed
Sealed pouches are heat-processed after packing, allowing unopened food to remain shelf-stable.
Practical for Indian homes
No refrigeration is required before opening. The pouch can be opened, poured and served.

Kedar formulates Shvaan’s recipes and reviews the company’s educational nutrition content. His work combines pet-nutrition education with practical feeding experience, ingredient selection, recipe development and hands-on knowledge of wet dog-food manufacturing.
Before founding Shvaan, Kedar spent more than two decades in engineering, technology consulting and business leadership. That background continues to influence Shvaan’s focus on formulation discipline, production processes, continuous learning and transparent decision-making.
Food can support everyday wellbeing, but Shvaan does not present food as a miracle cure or a replacement for veterinary diagnosis and treatment.
The NAVC credential belongs to Kedar Dixit personally. It does not mean that NAVC certifies, approves or endorses Shvaan products or recipes.
